Levoit's Self-Emptying Stick Vacuum Gets $200 Price Cut

The Levoit Aero Self-Emptying Cordless Vacuum, launched less than a year ago, is currently discounted 40% on Amazon, bringing its price down from $499.99 to $299.99 — a $200 savings.

The stick vacuum joins a small but growing category of cordless models with self-emptying capability, a feature once found mainly on robot vacuums. Brands including Shark, Dyson and Levoit have all released versions with the technology.

The Aero comes with a charging dock that also empties the vacuum's dustbin into a bag that can hold up to 60 days of debris, according to the company. It has a built-in HEPA filter that Levoit says captures more than 99% of particles during cleaning, and offers a runtime of up to 70 minutes, which the reviewer notes is longer than most cordless vacuums covered previously.

The vacuum also includes an advanced brushroll designed to handle pet hair without tangling, along with front-mounted headlights to help spot debris. It ships with several attachments, including a crevice tool, an upholstery brush, a combination tool and an extension hose, which can be stored directly on the vacuum for easy swapping.

Zoe Malin, an NBC Selected reporter who tested an earlier version of the vacuum before its launch, said the self-emptying dock has been especially useful for pet owners. "I have three shedding pets so I'm constantly vacuuming, and being able to dock the vacuum, press a button, have it empty itself and start charging basically does all the work for me," she said. She added that the vacuum picks up cat litter on the first pass and that she has used it for almost two years without issues.

The Levoit Aero is similar to the brand's other cordless models, such as the Levoit LVAC-200, but distinguishes itself with its self-emptying dock and slightly different included tools.
