NBC Testers Review the Viral Crocs Miami Sandals

The Crocs Miami toe loop sandal, which has gained viral popularity this summer, was put through a six-week test by five members of the NBC Select team to determine whether it lives up to the hype.

The sandal is a flat, slip-on design with a cushioned footbed made from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) for support and durability, paired with Crocs' signature Croslite foam for shock absorption. It features crossed straps and a toe loop, comes in colors ranging from neutrals to bright neon shades, is waterproof, and can be cleaned with a dry or damp wipe, according to the brand.

Testers with a range of foot types — including flat feet, wide feet with high arches, and a long-distance runner with a neutral foot type — wore the sandals for errands, office days, vacations and long walks.

Across the board, testers said the sandal fit comfortably regardless of foot type. One tester with flat feet reported no aching or strain, while another said the flexible straps adjusted well without digging into her skin or causing blisters. A runner on the team said she found no part of the shoe uncomfortable despite initial concerns about arch support.

Testers also praised the design, saying it was easy to dress up or down and paired well with dresses, skirts, jeans and linen pants. Several said the crisscross straps gave it a more distinctive look than a basic slide or flip-flop.

On durability, one tester wore the sandals on grass, pavement, at the beach and on gravel without any scuffs or tears. Testers familiar with Crocs' other shoes said they expected the sandals to hold up over time, and the waterproof design was called a plus for sudden rain.

The main drawback testers identified was a lack of serious arch support, making the sandal better suited for everyday wear and casual outings than heavy-duty walking or hiking.
