Philadelphia Woman Fights Off Man in Chucky-Style Mask
Police say a masked suspect threatened and chased six people across the city within a half hour last week, prompting one woman to fight back.

A Philadelphia woman says she fought off a man wearing a Chucky-style mask after he chased her, one of six people police say the suspect threatened during a half-hour spree last week.
Jameka Wilson told CBS News she decided to confront the man rather than keep running. "I figured it was smart to turn around and face him," she said. "I was like, 'OK, well, let's fight.' I put my hands up. I covered my face." Wilson said she kicked the man "in the middle of the chest," causing him to stumble back before he ran off.
Another woman, Luanda Marinho, said she encountered the suspect while meeting a friend. "He starts asking, 'Do you guys want to race me? I bet I am faster than you. Want to race me?' He asked a few times, but none of us acknowledged him. Very weird," she said.
A third woman told police the masked man asked her if she was "ready to die" while she was on an early morning jog. Philadelphia Police Capt. Jason Smith said the suspect chased her and got in front of her, repeating the question twice before she ran away and injured herself in the process.
Police described the suspect as between 16 and 25 years old and did not say whether he physically harmed anyone during the incidents. Smith said the department is treating the case seriously.
"Some people may find this situation to be funny. Rest assured, we do not," Smith said. "We're taking this very seriously. We are going to find this individual."
The suspect could face charges including terroristic threats, harassment and intimidation, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
