Michael Cohen, the former Trump Organization lawyer who later testified against President Trump in two trials, says he is set to interview his former boss for his radio show, confirming a report from MS NOW.

"This is the first public conversation between the president and myself in eight years," Cohen told CBS News. "There have been private conversations that have, of course, been reported. But this is the first public conversation."

Cohen said he reached out to the White House and to Trump directly, and the president agreed to the interview. The conversation is being recorded Thursday morning and will air in parts that evening and on Sunday on Cohen's program, "When You Know, You Know… with Michael Cohen," on New York's WABC 770 AM.

Cohen spent more than a decade as Trump's personal fixer, deeply involved in the Trump Organization's dealmaking and Trump's private affairs. "I was a permanent fixture in his office, most specifically the far-right red velvet chair," Cohen said Wednesday.

The relationship collapsed during Trump's first years in the White House amid scrutiny of a $130,000 payment Cohen made to adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election. Cohen pleaded guilty in 2018 to financial and campaign finance crimes and to lying to Congress, and served more than a year in prison. He went on to build a podcast and book career built largely on criticism of Trump, at one point saying, "I truly hope that this man ends up in prison."

Cohen testified against Trump in both his civil and criminal trials in New York, helping secure Trump's conviction on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to the Daniels payment.

But Cohen appeared to soften his stance this year, writing in a January Substack post that he "felt pressured and coerced" by prosecutors to testify against Trump. The upcoming interview suggests the long-fractured relationship between the two men may be thawing.
