Rep. Lauren Boebert's Son Arrested on Child Exploitation Charges

Tyler Boebert, the 21-year-old son of Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., was arrested Sunday on multiple felony charges related to child sexual exploitation, authorities said.

The Garfield County Sheriff's Office said Boebert, of New Castle, Colorado, was taken into custody on a warrant covering "multiple charges." Court records show he faces five felony counts: three counts of sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The arrest followed an investigation conducted jointly by the sheriff's office and the 9th Judicial District Attorney's Office, according to the sheriff's press release. Further details about the allegations were not disclosed.

Boebert posted a $10,000 bond the same day he was arrested, the sheriff's office said. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 19. Attorney information for him was not immediately available.

Rep. Boebert responded to the arrest in a statement to ABC News. "I love my son," she said. "We take these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time."

Rep. Boebert, a Republican who represents Colorado's 4th Congressional District, has not commented further on the case.
